🎤 Weekly Chart Commentary – November 15, 2025
The Billboard Hot 100 chart dated November 15, 2025, represents the moment exactly where three seasons are meeting at the same time. You have Taylor’s end-of-year dominance, the tidal wave of K-pop and alternative pop, the hold of country, and then the Halloween and holiday staples fighting to get back into the mix. This represents a very busy week with a very clear focal point at the top of the chart.
The Fate Of Ophelia spends the summit for the fifth week running, and at this stage, it’s not merely a hit but a true marker of a period for Taylor Swift. This Max Martin and Shellback production is doing exactly what the best of Martin and Shellback tend to do—elevate a cinematic moment with catchy refrains that sound almost effortless upon repeat listens. Five weeks atop the chart, along with equal gains in sales, and you know that the song is resonating across all platforms and not merely through streams. This is the flagship around which the other album tracks are orbiting for Taylor.
Golden stays at two, and that’s a quietly compelling story of the autumn so far. HUNTR/X featuring EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI have upgraded what could have been a quirky online hit into a massive crossover success. With a second appearance of twenty weeks on the chart, a peak position of number one previously achieved, and now a certification of double platinum, the penetration of this single into people’s minds – and thus into the playlist software – is evident. Further, the success of the Visva/Republic connection is paramount and represents a balance between the influence of K-pop and the realms of alternative R&B and radio that few are achieving.
Ordinary by Alex Warren remaining at the number three position after its thirty-ninth week is a flex of a different kind altogether. This is not the hot new story that grabs the headline anymore but has itself become one of the most consistent presences of the year so far. This song cannot be lingering within the Hot 100 chart position, with a former chart-topping performance and triple-platinum certification, if it doesn’t have a tremendous emotional hook. It’s at the point where it’s basically a comfort song that continues to play well even after it’s not the “new hot thing” anymore.
Justin Bieber’s Daisies at number six is a masterclass in sustained traction. With its debut and peak of two months back, it’s settled into a lengthy chart residence within the top ten and early twenties through the song’s positive, giditar-driven production and lofty list of songwriting credits that includes Tobias Jesso Jr and Mk.gee. Kehlani’s Folded at number seven marks the end of a slow-burning chart career of its very own, nestled within the home stretch of a chart entry that debuted weeks back. It’s a good reminder that not all modern hits arrive with the rush of a tidal wave—some of the biggest ones take the slow and steady route of old.
The true climber among the upper acts of the week is Mutt, the Leon Thomas track that enters the top ten at eight, with its fortieth week. That’s a phenomenal success for a track that broke into the chart at number 100 back in February. Its platinum certification – and a new peak so deep into its chart run – shows that it’s found a niche status as a “secret weapon” R&B and TikTok-playlisted anthem, and is only now breaking through into the mainstream. Morgan Wallen’s I Got Better at nine reinforces his position within the hot 100 loop and the genre’s importance to the hot 100’s makeup, even if the genre itself rarely enters the chart’s upper levels. Then, of course, there’s the annual chart debut of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” at ten, leaping into the chart’s upper levels direct from thirty-two – almost a holiday tradition at this point, much like the holiday tracks that debut every December.
This segues perfectly into the return of the seasonal brigade. Monster Mash re-enters the chart at position 21, Ghostbusters re-enters at position 22, Somebody’s Watching Me re-enters the chart at position 24, and This Is Halloween jumps to a brand-new high of position 26. These join the ever-present Thriller and presage the Christmas invasion that’s already begun with All I Want For Christmas Is You re-entering the chart at position 31 and Last Christmas re-entering at position 43. If you look lower on the chart, you see November 15th is the gunshot start of the annual catalog stampede.
Taylor’s presences on the chart after the number one song are not easy to ignore. Elizabeth Taylor at the age of 13, Father Figure at 20, Wi$h Li$t at 28, The Life Of A Showgirl at 32, Wood at 37, Actually Romantic at 38, Eldest Daughter at 49, Ruin The Friendship at 51, and Honey at the age of 55 are the parts that make up the picture of the album that is so deeply streamed through various tracks. These are not week-long sensations but are doing satisfactorily in the fifth week that shows that people are settlings into the album and not into a hit song.
Another similar “ecosystem” artist is having a moment, but a bit further back. Tears at 17, Manchild at 18, When Did You Get Hot at 67, and Nobody’s Son at 88 collectively indicate a multi-single strategy that’s connecting through various emotional channels: breakup catharsis songs, fun “calls-out” songs, and “story songs” that are серед-tempo. “Real stardom” is evident not only when a single becomes a hit but also when fans are using multiple songs concurrently within the chart.
There’s also a prominent country spine running through the lower and second tiers. Morgan Wallen alone has 20 Cigarettes at 62 and I Ain’t Coming Back at 91, and a number one hit. Ella Langley is also growing her name with Choosin’ Texas at 25 and featuring on Don’t Mind If I Do and Hell At Night.
The presence of songs such as Lainey Wilson’s Somewhere Over Laredo at 48, Parker McCollum’s What Kinda Man at 74, and Cody Johnson’s The Fall at 70 and Luke Combs’s Back In The Saddle and Days Like These further confirms that modern country is not a small afterthought on the Hot 100 chart but a foundational element.
As a label and a group, Visva/Republic is operating beneath the radar everywhere. The combination of the HUNTR/X album and other tracks (How It’s Done, What It Sounds Like, Takedown, the Takedown album itself, and Soda Pop and Strategy) represents a very specific story—a roster that has apparently discovered the formula to take globally aware pop and convert it into hot American chart material.
This tracks the trend that emerged early in the decade related to the influence of K-pop-led imprints, but a hybridized sound. The catalog surprises are merely additional flavor towards the end. Let Down by Radiohead at 98 and Sparks by Coldplay at 76 serve to keep the alternative of the 90s and early 2000s within the running, no doubt because of television feature licenses, live shows, and trends.
Breakin’ Dishes by Rihanna at 96, having gone platinum, is a reminder that the deeper fan favorites are being given a second chance because of the age of streaming. And finally, the highest of the new entries of the week, and the final one I’ll mention, is Come N Go by Yeat at number 93.
This might not sound that impressive but considering the level of competition that enters the chart each week – seeing the name Yeat appear at all, never mind atop the new entrants, shows that there is definitely a buzz around the young artist.
Taken collectively, the Hot 100 of November 15, 2025, represents a sort of encyclopedia of a very cluttered and very interconnected pop world. There is one super-star at the pinnacle, but the competition is full of groups and genre-bending collaborations, favorite country acts, and classic stars hitting the annual reentry. It’s the end of the year, but the chart is anything but sleepy.
