6 Underrated Music Artists to Check Out in 2025
1. Thin Lizzy

Starting off with “Thin Lizzy”, a 60’s Irish-Dublin rock band, featuring the frontman, lead vocalist, and Bass guitarist Phil Lynott. The group members were replaced way too many times. But lastly, there were guitarists like Gary Moore, Scott Gorham, Brian Robertson, and Eric Bell (founding member), drummer Brian Downey, and keyboardist Darren Wharton.
Phil Lynott, one of the first black frontmen in rock history, was also the primary songwriter. Although they disbanded in 1983, the band “Thin Lizzy” delivered some international hits. Singles like “Whiskey in The Jar”, “The Boys Are Back in Town”, “Waiting for an Alibi” and “Jailbreak” were some Iconic hits back in the ’70s-’80s. The music they produced was a mixture of blues rock, hard rock, psychedelic rock, and Celtic-influenced rock with some groove-heavy rhythms and dual lead guitar harmonies. Moreover, funky, danceable basslines and Irish folk influences were clearly heard in their music like “Dancing in The Moonlight” and “Still in Love with You”.
With the punk-rock, heavy rhythmic songs like “Emerald”, “Thunder and Lightning” and “Cold Sweat” they influenced bands like “Iron Maiden”, “Metallica”, “Guns N’ Roses” etc. Meaningful lyrics written by Phil Lynott are what made the band different from the others. His lyrics conveyed themes like romance, rebellion, and street poetry making them different from other rock bands. Being this much of a legendary rock music band, I think this band is still a lot underrated. Don’t you think so too?
