Kayleigh Rose Amstutz was born on 19th February 1998 in Willard, Missouri, U.S. Her stage name Chappell Roan is in honor of her late grandfather’s favorite song “The Strawberry Roan”. Miss Roan took a liking to music in her early years and by the age of 10, she started playing the piano.
At age 13, she performed her own rendition of “The Christmas Song” on the piano and sang for her family. The singer started uploading covers and original songs to her YouTube channel at the early age of 14 and garnered the attention of several recording labels and other artists.

Chappell Roan’s Musical Journey
One of the first people to acknowledge Roan’s covers was popular singer Troye Sivan, as early as 2014 when he tweeted links to her channel and encouraged people to listen. Chappell already had early music connections with popular names such as Connor Franta and Troye Sivan even before her official debut into the music industry.
When she was 17, Roan traveled back and forth between New York and her hometown to perform musical showcases which eventually led to her signing a contract with Atlantic Records in 2015.
